Special projects to promote and celebrate communities

Jenny, in her capacity of Senior Urban Design Officer for Brighton and Hove City Council, was lead designer for the meeting place at the Clock Tower, townscape project. Detail plans for public consultation was carried out by Jenny Exley Associates, who also provided the materials plan. Jenny took forward the design from initial concepts to implementation, inviting tenders both for stonemasonry and tree works; providing instructions for the Main Contractor; agreed structural engineering consultancy; reviewed the digital details of each piece of cladding prior to its cutting to ensure that the seating appeared to be a seamless curved form, and oversaw implementation.

Integral element of the Brighton North Street Project included within the overall city performance for transport, when Brighton and Hove City Council received the Transport Award of the Year 2010.

Commissioned to progress an amazing arts venue and workspaces in the grounds of the decommissioned observatory. Our plan encapsulated the solar system, with areas for a central amphitheatre, smaller arenas , and sculpture trail. A community focussed project, following clearance of the site, local schools were invited to plant the perimeter hedge in phase 1.

Detailed plans, planting and maintenance specifications for @ 35,000 trees and shrubs. This included the integration of the new Causeway School into Shinewater Park.

Won by competition, the project celebrated the local and unique fishing community.
